Brewery Vivant
Brewery Vivant
4PK 16oz Cans $11.99/$10.49

From the producer: Why the name Brewery Vivant? (pronounced Ve-vaunt) Much of the inspiration for our beer came out of a trip to the French speaking Belgian countryside visiting small farmhouse breweries. The beer we were excited about most comes from the southern part of Belgium, called Wallonia. This area is also the inspiration of our logo which is modeled from that region's flag and was created to honor the beer and people of that region. The word "vivant" translates as "to be alive", or "to be lively" which we thought fitting to the type of brewery we want to become. There is also the French term "bon vivant" which translates to "the good life". It is often used in reference to people who enjoy eating and drinking well...and that is what we are all about.

Triomphe
Triomphe Belgian Style
India Pale Ale

From the producer: Triomphe is made with a classic Belgian style yeast strain that gives the complexity and slight sweetness you may expect from a Belgian style ale. The beer then reaches deeper providing a smack-down of American grown hops to turn the style on its head. It has a light caramel color, is strongly bitterwith a fruity citrus aroma. This beer style is a nod to the American craft beer movement. This style uses classic Belgian techniques and then infuses it with American hops to give you a "best of both worlds" kind of scenario. Enjoy!

Solitude
Solitude
Abbey Style Ale

From the producer: Monks have been brewing beer in Belgium for centuries. Their beers have been some of the most sought after in the world. Solitude is made in the tradition of the famous brewing monks of the Abbeys of Belgium. This beer is deep mahogany in color, malt forward with hints of caramel, pear & raisin. Often people ask what spices are in this beer. There are none. The spiciness comes from a special yeast that we use from an Abbey Brewery in Belgium. Our secret is that we do not rush this beer. We give it the time it needs to work its magic. You can not be in a rush to make great beer.

Farmhand
Farmhand French Style
Farmhouse Ale

From the producer: There was a time in old world France when nearly every family farm had a brewery. A necessary part of farm life was to provide a ration of beer to laborers, as beer was safer to drink than the waterof the time. Farm Hand is our interpretation of what these rustic beers must have been like. It islight in body, mildly sweet andhas a slight cloudiness from theuse of simple un-malted grains similar to the period. This beer is one of the owner's favorites. Inspired by a trip to France and a lengthy discussion about farmhouse ales (over a few too many farmhouse ales) with a French brewer from a small family run brewery.

Schell's Brewery
All Six Packs $9.49/$4.99

The big news here of course is that Michigan's new coach is San Diego State's OLD coach. The general concensus is that this will help lead to a Michigan win, but don't underestimate the magical power of a bunch of people out to beat their former boss! Or the magical power in all those creepy gargoyles that Stone Brewing uses to brand their exceptional beers. This one case where you'll want to hold your enemy's beer close, and their former coach even CLOSER.

Bock
Bock

From the Producer: Each year the promise of spring was confirmed as the first keg of Schell's Bock rolled onto waiting delivery wagons. And since 1860, Schell's Bock has continued in the true German tradition. Completely reformulated for 2009, Schell's Bock has replaced Caramel Bock as our late winter seasonal. Brewed with a harmonious blend of 10 different types of malt and noble hops, Schell's Bock is fermented slowly, and then lagered for an extended period of time to ensure a smooth finish. Perfect for passing even the coldest winter day. This dark amber colored beer sports a robust malt character. Alcohol by Volume: 6.1% Characteristics: Dark amber color, robust malt character.

Maifest
Maifest

From the Producer: Maifest is a seasonal specialty beer offered in the spring months. It is brewed with a blend of three different specialty malts and the finest imported and domestic hops, in the tradition of Munich's Hofbrauhaus Maibock (My-Bock) beer.Considered by the locals as the birthplace of the Bock beer style, the Hofbrauhaus brews different versions of Bock beer at several points during the year. Most important of these is their Maibock or Maifest beer. The Prime Minister of Bavaria and the Mayor of Munich are quite likely to take part in the tapping of the first huge barrel of Maibock each year, as they celebrate the end of winter and the promise of warmer weather. This full-bodied, blond dopple bock has a rich, assertive maltiness with a slight, but unique sweetness balanced by a moderate hop bitterness and a citrusy hop aroma. Alcohol by Volume: 7.2% Characteristics: Deep gold in color with an assertive sweetness balanced by a moderate hop bitterness.

Hopfenmalz
Hopfenmalz

From the Producer: Introducing ‘Hopfenmalz,’ the commemorative beer for the 150th Anniversary of the August Schell Brewing Company. Hopfenmalz was part of the Anniversary Draft Series, a collection of eight single batch, limited release brews which took place over the past two years. Fans were asked to go online and vote for their favorite in the series, with the winner becoming the commemorative beer for the sesquicentennial year. The votes are in, and the fans have spoken. So join us as we raise a glass and celebrate 150 years of brewing history with Schell’s Hopfenmalz! Prosit! Hopfenmalz incorporates the elegant drinkability of a Pilsner, the bready maltiness of a Vienna Lager, and the hopping of a Pale Ale. The malty backbone is beautifully balanced by a bright, citrusy hop aroma and bitterness. Then we lagered it for an extended period of time to give it a crisp, dry finish. Alcohol By Volume: 4.9%

Great Lakes Brewing Co
Selected Six Packs
$9.99/$8.99

This is one of the oldest blood rivalries in college sports, which may explain the crimson in OSU's team colors. You see, Michigan has won 57 times to Ohio's 43, with 6 ties. This is such an established rivalry that there's a Wikipedia page devoted to it. We don't stock any beers from Columbus itself, but Great Lakes Brewing Co of Cleveland makes some exceptional craft beers. We give them bonus points for their maize and blue color scheme.
