Atwater Brewery

Atwater Brewery
All Six Packs $10.99/$8.99

Located in Detroit's historic Rivertown district, Atwater Brewery was founded in March of 1997 with the purpose of carrying on the rich history of breweries in Detroit. Their brewing process, however, is over 200 years old.

Their imported Kasper Schultz brew house allows them to brew their brands in the true heritage-style of traditional German lagers. And, when they say, “imported brew house,” they mean it! All of their main brewing equipment was brought in from Germany, where precision and passion for beer has its roots. In fact, when they have service calls on their equipment, they call in the Germans!

Likewise, they only use the finest malt and hops from Germany to brew their lagers. Their specialty ales, on the other hand, are brewed with only the finest American hops. All of which makes Atwater Block beers distinctly fresh and flavorful. Which is exactly why they live by the slogan: “We drink all we can and sell the rest.”

Atwater Ale
Atwater Ale

This well-balanced Pale Ale is a combination of both European and Northwest American hops. But, a word of warning: this beer is not to be taken lightly. Though its golden color and floral bite are a result of its beautifully balanced hops, this beer also has a lot of body. ABV 5.50% IBU 60 Color: Deep Gold.

Malty sweetness with cherry candy notes. Hop bitterness and flavor are mild and really only show up in the finish where they try in vain to balance the malt sweetness. On the palate it has a slightly thin feel for the sweetness and nice average carbonation.

Pale golden amber color. Grilled mango, orange blossom honey, and Hawaiian bread toast aromas follow through on a very supple and round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body with honey yogurt, apple, and pepper notes. Finishes with a long, warming honey granola fade. Big and tasty; pair with mighty curries. 8.8% ABV

Anchor Bock Beer, released in celebration of the coming of spring, is an ancient and mysterious part of the brewing tradition. Over time, the term “bock” has come to mean a beer darker and stronger than the brewery's “regular” brew. We hope you will find Anchor Bock to be a rich and flavorful addition to our other offerings. San Francisco's Anchor Bock Beer is virtually handmade by the brewers of Anchor Steam® Beer, in one of the most traditional small breweries in the world. It is brewed from a complex blend of the finest barley malts, wheat malts, and fresh, whole hops.
